NEW DELHI: As many as 340 stocks, including PVR, Tata Steel, UPL, Vedanta and Videocon Industries hit 52-week lows on NSE on Thursday.Aditya Birla Capital, Bharat Dynamics, BEML, Engineers India , Godfrey Phillips India, Greenply Industries, Indiabulls Real Estate, INOX Leisure, Jet Airways (India), Mangalam Cement, Manpasand Beverages, NMDC, PC Jeweller and PTC India too featured among stocks that touched 52-week lows on NSE.Equity benchmarks Nifty and Sensex closed lower on Thursday on losses in heavyweights including Kotak Mahindra Bank and Larsen & Toubro as investors remained jittery in the run-up to the no-confidence motion against the Modi government.Sensex slipped by 22 points, or 0.06 per cent, ending at 36,351. The index saw 18 stocks advancing and while 13 declining.The Nifty50 fell 23 points, or 0.21 per cent, settling at 10,957. As many as 21 stocks finished in the green in the index, but 28 ended up in the red and one remained unchanged.Among the sectoral indices on NSE, barring FMCG and PSU bank, all closed the day in the red.Hindalco Industries, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Larsen & Toubro, Cipla, Dr. Reddy's Laboratories and Hero MotoCorp settled as the top losers in the Nifty pack of stocks.

NEW DELHI: Over 250 stocks, including Apollo Micro Systems, Cadila Healthcare , Dollar Industries, HDIL and Hindalco Industries hit 52-week lows on NSE in Friday's session.Hindustan Copper, Jindal Stainless (Hisar), Manpasand Beverages, MTNL, Orissa Minerals Development Company, Ramco Industrie, PC Jeweller, Tata Coffee and Vedanta also featured among the stocks that touched 52-week lows on NSE.Market sentiment was positive owing to buying in IT, energy, bank and auto stocks.Buying in heavyweights including Infosys, Reliance Industries, ICICI Bank, Larsen & Toubro and Tata Consultancy Services boosted equity benchmarks.The NSE Nifty index was trading 50 points up at 11,007, while the BSE Sensex was up 168 points at 36,519 around 10:15 am.In the Nifty index, Bajaj Finserv, Bajaj Finance, Infosys, Tech Mahindra and Reliance Industries were among the top gainers in the Nifty index.On the other hand, BPCL, Vedanta, HPCL, Indian Oil Corporation and ONGC were among the top losers in the index.

Sun Pharma: Stock market update: Pharma stocks in good health; Aurobindo Pharma, Dr Reddy's Labs, Sun Pharma climb up to 2%

NEW DELHI: Most pharma stocks were trading with gains during afternoon trade on Friday.The Nifty Pharma index was trading 0.97 per cent up at 8,834 around 01:15 pm. Aurobindo Pharma (up 2.32 per cent) was the top gainer in the pharma index, followed by Dr. Reddy's Laboratories (up 1.76 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (up 1.64 per cent) and Biocon (up 1.64 per cent).Divi's Laboratories (up 1.16 per cent), Lupin (up 0.57 per cent) and Glenmark Pharmaceuticals (up 0.45 per cent) too were up.However, Piramal Enterprises (down 0.76 per cent) and Cadila Healthcare (down 0.71 per cent) were in the red.Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 47 points at 11,004, while the BSE Sensex was up 142 points at 36,493.Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 28 were trading in the green, while 22 were in the red.Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Finserv, Infosys, Tech Mahindra and HCL Technologies were leading among the Nifty gainers.On the other hand, Bajaj Auto, ONGC, Vedanta, HPCL and Indian Oil Corporation were among the top losers in the Nifty index.
