Among the actives, Ping An surged 3.66 percent, while China Life soared 1.91 percent, Galaxy Entertainment spiked 1.23 percent, CNOOC climbed 1.04 percent, New World Development jumped 0.81 percent, BOC Hong Kong collected 0.68 percent, Hong Kong China & Gas advanced 0.55 percent, Lenovo Group gained 0.20 percent and China Petroleum and Chemical (Sinopec) and Industrial and Commercial Bank of China were unchanged. The Hang Seng Index now rests just above the 25,520-point plateau, and the market may addto its winnings again on Thursday. The European markets were slightly higher and the U.S. bourses were mixed and little changed - and the Asian markets figure to split the difference. The Hang Seng finished modestly higher on Wednesday following gains from the insurance companies, casinos and utilities.
